Dialysis Equipment Technician
Certified in the operation and maintenance of Phoenix, and Prisma dialysis machines. Certified as a CCHT and medical assistant. Responsible for setting up, preventative maintenance (PM) and daily operation of hemodialysis machines to treat patients suffering from kidney failure. Responsible for 20 phoenix, 15 C-3 machines, and 15 portable RO’s at Allegheny General Hospital. Additionally, I am responsible for the PM at the Thorn Run Dialysis Clinic which has12 Phoenix machines. Responsible also for 3 additional inpatient acute hospital sites (West Penn Hospital, Suburban General Hospital and Allegheny Valley Hospital). This results in an additional 10 C-3 machines and 8 portable RO’s. Duties include setting up the unit each morning for daily treatments. Essential duties require ensuring all water readings (chloramines readings, pressure readings, water hardness and all central RO readings) are within acceptable ranges prior to daily treatments beginning. Additional responsibility involves monthly disinfection of the central RO. Duties also monitoring the daily maintenance of the Phoenix, Prisma, C-3 Cobe, portable RO, and central RO dialysis machines. Responsible for all water cultures for central RO, C-3, phoenix and portable RO machines.

Acted as chief technician of 10 unit outpatient dialysis unit due medical absence of chief technician. Primarily responsible for opening, setting up and closing unit on daily basis. Responsible for ordering supplies, fixing and maintain C-3 Cobe machines, machine cultures and RO water cultures. Also, performed routine PCT duties.
