HIGHLIGHTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Grew clinic from $2M to $50M annual revenue. Western Washington Oncology clinics needed to grow. Created/deployed plan focused on referral base for each clinic. Grew business through advertising, referrals, and direct contacts. Increased new patient visit business from 400 to 1800 new patients over seven years.
Opened multiple offices/facilities. Physicians wanted to open independent office, Western WA Oncology Center. Built office, ordering all furniture, capital equipment and drug inventory. Opened six additional clinics in three years and $8M, 30,000 sq. ft. Medical/Radiation Therapy Regional Cancer Center after merger with another practice.
Stabilized billing office, increasing receivables. Recognized opportunity to improve A/R efficiency and employee morale. Changed management of Business Office. Worked with department employees to design/implement new procedures. Set new controls, strengthened office functions, and improved morale, increasing collections 20%.
Implemented EMR, enabling staff reductions. Multi-site access to client information was hampered by manual chart system. Installed electronic medical records, Impac, with billing, payments, appointments and reporting systems. Provided access to patient records from all locations, enabling cost savings through 10% cut in staff.
Developed pre-treatment estimates, increasing payments. Western Washington Cancer Treatment patients were unaware of insurance coverage/final personal costs before treatment. Contacted patients' insurance to verify coverage/allowed payments. Created cost estimates to inform patients. Improved collections 30%/cut denials 40%.
