Human Resource Department and
Director of Respiratory Therapy:
Please take a moment to read and review this letter and attached information. I have made application for a position as a Respiratory Therapist at your facility. Licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist has been achieved in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
My entire working life has been dedicated to work engaged in patient care and support, albeit on the periphery of the medical field. Although I performed medical transcription for many years, the vast majority of my past employment has been as a medical assistant employed in adult cardiology and pediatric pulmonary practices. Ultimately, it was the environment of the pediatric pulmonary practice, working with the children and their families, that lead me to choose the education path of respiratory therapy over nursing. It is into this field that I have chosen to focus my energies and future endeavor.
While I have attached my CV, I have also included my resume, which demonstrates employment experience prior to having completed my college education and licensure as a
Respiratory Therapist. As a newer respiratory therapist, I feel that my resume is more demonstrative of the experience and skills that form the basis of how I work and who I am than expressed in my curriculum vitae. Please consider the information contained in both formats.
It took me eight years to complete my education; all the while raising my teenagers and working multiple jobs. I cannot begin to describe the challenges and losses faced during this time, but I will utilize this example as demonstrative of my dedication and my interest in the medical field, patient care and Respiratory Therapy.
I simply ask for the opportunity to continue my professional career as a Respiratory Therapist enabling me to incorporate the caring, dedication, professionalism and dependability that have been my steadfast trademark regardless of my task.
Thank you for your consideration to my application for employment and review of my credentials. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from your organization regarding the possibility of employment.
Sincerely,
OBJECTIVE
I am seeking a position as a Respiratory Therapy to expand my abilities in healthcare. My goals are to continue to learn about and grow within the field of Respiratory Medicine to enable me to help others.
